Maintains WIC breastfeeding information and resources stored on the state WIC SharePoint site, specifically related to Breastfeeding Coordinator responsibilities, the WIC Breastfeeding Support app, and WIC hospital certification content.Assists in Indiana WIC breastfeeding policy and guidance development.Routinely reviews WIC program breastfeeding data to identify trends and strategies for improvement.Assists with local agency breastfeeding audits and performs periodic spot checks of local agency performance in breastfeeding education and support.Reviews and approves local WIC agency MOUs established with hospital prior to implementation. Provides technical assistance to local WIC agencies providing certifications at local hospitals.Serves as the breastfeeding team lead for development and implementation of the Indiana WIC Breastfeeding Support app.In coordination with the Communication Specialist, establishes and implements the Indiana WIC breastfeeding social media and outreach plan to increase awareness of Indiana WIC’s breastfeeding initiatives at the state and local levels.Serves as the Indiana WIC content expert for Levels 3B (Breastfeeding Coordinator & Peer Counselor Management) and 4 (Designated Breastfeeding Expert) of the USDA WIC Breastfeeding Support curriculum. Develops and maintains New Breastfeeding Coordinator training and IBCLC training content.Coordinates quarterly breastfeeding coordinator meetings for local agency staff to share best practices, facilitate networking, and offer opportunities for continuing education on breastfeeding-related topics.Consults with State and local WIC agency staff on clinical breastfeeding initiatives and provides guidance and technical assistance to ensure local agencies provide evidence-based breastfeeding information within the appropriate scopes of practice of their WIC staff.Supports and promotes the breastfeeding goals of the Indiana WIC program and the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH). Works under the direction of the State WIC Breastfeeding Coordinator and in collaboration with State WIC Nutrition & Breastfeeding staff.The essential functions of this role are as follows:
